Arsene Wenger and Arsenal sent a club scout to watch France international star Thomas Lemar in AS Monaco’s clash against Besiktas, according to reports emanating from France.
Mercato365.com report that Arsenal are still after the winger, and were closely watching him during Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash. If the reports are right, it looks like Arsene Wenger’s comments denying a new offer for the player might be an attempt to manage the expectations of fans.
Seem fans are expecting Lemar to join in the next couple of transfer windows, so it’s probably a smart idea not to fuel that transfer speculation before any deal is agreed with either club.
Whichever way, Thomas Lemar didn’t do his valuation many favours against Besiktas last week, as he was forced off injured in the 26th moment. As per reports, Thomas Lemar could be sidelined for up to a month.
It’s a massive shame because the French star was just beginning to hit form for the French Ligue 1 team.
In his previous match, Lemar scored his first goal of the season and had made an assist a week before.
Before that, one of the hottest prospects in European football, Lemar, had only managed to provide two assists in 11 matches.
