According to reports, Arsenal have commenced talks with German side Bayer Leverkusen about the likelihood of landing Bernd Leno this summer transfer window.
Arsenal seek Petr Cech replacement
German publication Bild, as cited by the Daily Express, is claiming that Arsenal are interested in signing the 26-year-old goalkeeper to replace Petr Cech at The Emirates Stadium.
As per the same article, veteran shot-stopper Petr Cech could be on his way out of the North London club at the end of the campaign after a mixed season for the ex-Chelsea star.
The same article states that the Gunners are looking add to their options in the goalkeeping department this summer as they look out for a long-term replacement for aging Petr Cech.
As well as Bernd Leno, Atletico Madrid safe hand Jan Oblak is said to be on Arsenal’s shortlist of potential signings.
Arsenal target set to leave German side
As per the same report, Bernd Leno is ready to leave the Bundesliga side this summer window and sees The Emirates Stadium as the “ideal” destination to further his playing career.
It is also claimed that his current buyout clause is set at around £17.5million, which would not put off Arsenal.
The North Londoners are likely to be connected with a number of players in a couple of weeks as they get ready for life without Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
