Arsenal already preparing for life without Monreal

Nacho Monreal

The period Arsenal left fullback Nacho Monreal was missing in action, it went as long as affecting the team and most importantly ending the winning run of the North London side.

This was a pain in the heart of the Arsenal family which includes the fans and the management and there have been plans to ensure it does not repeat itself by having a good cover for the Spanish player.

Ajax fullback Nicolas Taqliafico has, therefore, been identified as a suitable replacement for Monreal because of his quality and trait which match the demands of the style introduced by manager Unai Emery at the Stamford Bridge.

Taqliafico has been on the Gunners radar for a while but they seem to be showing more seriousness than ever in the bid for him as they look to replace the Spanish player.

As efforts to have Taqliafico join the North London side, Arsenal officials watched him in October as a way of scouting him.

However, the player is being monitored by Napoli and Spanish giants Barcelona with reports that the current La Liga leaders will not hesitate to bid Taqliafico in the coming January window.

Also, Monreal is being linked to a return to Spain with Atletic Bilbao wishing to have him.
