According to reports, premier league heavyweights Manchester United are ready to revive their interest in bringing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid for £88million, as Chelsea’s Diego Costa is making a return back to the La Liga club.
Man United are long-time admirers of Griezmann, but they have to temporarily paused their pursuit of him this summer when his club were handed a transfer ban.
If Griezmann had left the Madrid club during the summer, they won’t have been able to sign a replacement for him. And so, the France international was instead offered a new contract, which he agreed to.
Nevertheless, it is being said that the red devils and the 27-year-old remain keen on reviving the deal in the future, and that Jose Mourinho’s side are very much likely to make a fresh bid for Antoine next summer.
Griezmann is one of the best players in Europe, and ESPN made it known that it’s all down to his current side bringing in Spanish striker Diego Costa as a ready-made replacement for him in front of their attack.
Costa is ready to link up with his former club Atletico Madrid from January onwards, and Chelsea themselves have already confirmed last week that the transfer is on the way to be sealed after agreeing to sell the player back to the Madrid club.
