Why Andy Cole joins Macclesfield

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole is reported to have joined the coaching crew at Macclesfield after reaching an agreement with the club.

Andy Cole will now link up with former England national teammate Sol Campbell who is also a staff at the club but on a part-time basis.

The former striker who is now into management recorded a 19-year successful playing career where he won the Premier League title on five occasions and the Champions League at the Old Trafford.

In his playing career, Andy Cole scored a total of 187 goals which makes him the third highest goal scorer in the Premier League.

He is now expected to begin a new and different career where he is expected to help stabilize struggling Macclesfield who are close to relegation zone.

Much is not known of Macclesfield as a coach but a lot is being demanded from him to deliver good results by making use of his experience as a layer and also what he learnt from the coaches he has worked with.

Meanwhile, Macclesfield’s former side are just recovering from bad results under their ex-manager Jose Mourinho as the decision to have another club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who took charge in last December.
