According to Spanish media reports, Real Madrid superstar Marco Asensio has stated his intent to join reigning Premier League Champions Chelsea – as long as French tactician Zinedine Zidane remains in charge of the club.
Unhappy superstar
Spanish publication Diario Gol, as cited by the Daily Express, is suggesting that the Spain international is not delighted about his lack of regular playing time under Zinedine Zidane at the club this season.
The 22-year-old has been limited to only 13 Spanish La Liga starts for the Los Blancos this term, but he has still managed to find the net six times and created four assists in the League this season.
Limited playing time
Asensio has featured in 22 matches in the La Liga this season in total, but as per the same article, he is not delighted about his reduced first-team chances.
The 22-year-old is open to a transfer to Chelsea, but the attacker will only hand the green light for a move to Stamford Bridge if Zidane is still in charge at the club beyond the summer window, as per the same report.
The same report states that the attacking midfielder wants to try and prove himself at the Santiago Bernabeu but he thinks that he has not yet been handed enough opportunities to do so under the current manager.
Reinforcement at the Bridge
The Blues are bound to be in the market for reinforcements later in the summer window as the west London outfit look to strengthen their squad ahead of next campaign.
