Man United lost 1-0 to FC Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and Jose Mourinho will hope his men can bring back smiles to his face by winning Brighton in the premier league on Saturday.
Manchester United are still eight points behind league leaders Manchester City after losing two premier league games to Huddersfield and Chelsea, and they must earn all three points against Brighton on Saturday to attempt closing the gap opened by Pep Guardiola’s side
As far as United’s team news is concerned, we expect Zlatan Ibrahimovic to get his first start of the season since he is back to full fitness.
The legendary striker participated for few minutes against Newcastle United and Basel, and Jose Mourinho is likely to include him in the starting XI this weekend, alongside Romelu Lukaku.
In all fairness, Man United have one of the best defense in the premier league, but their attackers haven’t been at their best recently. And so, we expect Mourinho to make use of something close to a 4-1-2-1-2 formation this Saturday.
With that, Paul Pogba should start behind the two strikers – Lukaku and Ibrahimovic, while Nemanja should start as the lone defensive midfielder.
Here is Man United’s probable starting XI vs Brighton.
GK – De Gea
DL – Young
DC – Rojo
DC – Smalling
DR – Valencia
DM – Matic
ML – Martial
MR – Rashford
AR – Pogba
FC – Lukaku
FC – Zlatan
