Swede Star Could Miss Manchester United’s FA Cup Game With Chelsea.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic could miss his side’s FA Cup clash with the blues.
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could possibly miss Manchester United’s FA Cup game with Chelsea if he is eventually charged by the FA after the incident with Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings.T
Tyrone Mings stamped on Ibrahimovic’s head while he was laying on the floor during their 1-1 tie on Saturday at Old Trafford. And moments after the incident, the Swedish forward elbowed the Bournemouth defender as the duo competed for a header in the penalty area.E
Even though both of them were lucky enough to stay on and remain on the pitch, another look back at the replays show some quite violent conduct – despite the duo claiming their roles in the incidents were simply accidental.
And speaking about the situation, former Premier League referee Graham Poll is of the opinion that they would both be lucky to escape retrospective action.
“Ibrahimovic and Mings who are facing three-match bans once replays are reviewed,”
“The unsavoury incident will need to be resolved by the FA disciplinary review panel.
“There is no doubt in my mind that both cowardly acts were totally deliberate and it would be amazing if my former colleagues on the review panel, Alan Wiley and Steve Dunn, don’t see the same when reviewing the incidents.” he said.
If the Swede legend should receives a three-match ban, he could miss Chelsea’s FA cup game at Stamford Bridge on Monday, an away at Middlesbrough and home against West Brom in the Premier League.
Ibrahimovic has been in top form this current campaign. The former Barcelona striker has scored 26 goals in all competitions and has been in good form. Therefore, having him on the sidelines would be a massive blow to Jose Mourinho’s side.
