Former Teammate Revealed The Club Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante Wanted To Join

According to N’Golo Kante’s former Caen team-mate Alexandre Raineau, Kante wanted to move to French side Marseille before Leicester City move.

The Frenchman has had a meteoric rise to the top of the English Premier League after his fabulous season at Leicester.

Chelsea eventually snapped up the 25-year-old France international for £30m in the summer from Leicester and he looks to be on course to win back-to-back titles.

However, with latest revelations from former teammate Alexandre Raineau, it appears things could have been much different.

Raineau has revealed that the midfielder wanted to stay in France instead of the £5.6m move to Leicester – but his former club Caen rejected Marseille’s offer as Leicester’s bid was higher.

“He wanted to go to Marseille, but the club did not make the same financial proposal as Leicester, so Caen said no,” Raineau said on French broadcaster SFR Sport 1’s show Le Vestiaire.

“He wanted to stay in France.” he said.

And as Chelsea prepares taking West Ham on Monday, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte states his own prediction for the West Ham game….

The Italian manager has warned his Chelsea players that they will have to be at their best if they truly desire to beat London rivals West Ham United at the London Stadium on Monday.

Chelsea headed into this weekend’s round of fixtures with the view of defending their 10-point lead at the top of the table as the former Juventus manager looks to steer Chelsea to the title in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian boss is however under no illusions about the size of the task that awaits his side after they were beaten by West Ham in the EFL Cup earlier in the season.

Conte speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday at Cobham said: “The result wasn’t good for us [in October] and we want to try to take three points.

“It will be a difficult game. We all know the difficulty of derbies but we are preparing very well for this game, in the right way with great commitment and focus”
