The former Liverpool and Bayern defender Markus Babbel has described the situation at Manchester United as being laughable.
United are dip in controversies involving dressing room crisis, Manager Jose Mourinho’s rift with players and also bad results.
However, the Portuguese manager has been in the centre of all of the issues with speculations that he would be sacked.
It took the Red Devils’ 3-2 comeback against Newcastle in the weekend before the international break to calm situations at the club.
Babbel thinks sacking Mourinho is a wrong thing to do as he was bold to point to the club’s management as the party at fault and not the manager.
The head coach of A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia told Ominisport that everyone including United management know Mourinho to be a defensive coach who also wins trophies.
He, therefore, expressed surprise at why the club complains about the issue after going ahead to sign him.
According to him, it’s bad to recruit a coach and fail to trust him as in the case of the Manchester side and the former Chelsea boss.
Babbel adds that United as a club seems confused, not knowing what they really want, stressing that they would not have signed the Portuguese if they hadn’t wanted his style.
