The AFCON qualifiers tournament is still on and it is expected to play a determining factor on the teams that will play in AFCON tournament in 2019. West African country, Nigeria will be going head to head against Libya for their second leg match in the AFCON qualifiers. The first leg of the match which took place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom saw the Nigerian Super Eagles outclassed the North African team. Kenya put up some great performances in the game as it ended with three goals to nothing in favour of the Kenyan national squad. AFCON Qualifiers: CAF – Sierra Leone vs Ghana will not be rescheduled
The body in charge of football in the African continent, CAF - Confederation of African Football, has called off the AFCON qualifiers match between Sierra Leone and Ghana. CAF in a statement disclosed that the match was cancelled because Sierra Leone failed to meet up to the conditions to uplift the ban placed on the country's FA by world football body, FIFA. The African football body have hinted that even if the ban is lifted the match will not be rescheduled. But multiple reports have confirmed that CAF are yet to decide whether the points from the game will be awarded to Ghana.
