Maurizio Sarri’s led Premier League outfit Chelsea have concluded plans to make an expensive raid on Portuguese Super League champions FC Porto in the New Year.
According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, it is said that the Blues have joined rivals Manchester United in the race to sign highly rated Brazilian international defender from FC Porto.
The player has been in sensational form for FC Porto in both the league and Champions League competitions in what is his debut season for the Portuguese giants.
The youngster recently joined FC Porto this summer from Brazilian Serie A side Sao Paulo.
He has a release clause of €50m in his current contract with the club.
Eder Militao is a right-back but he has spent the majority of his playing time for FC Porto as a centre back.
The Brazilian player can also play as a defensive midfielder.
He’s a full international after making his debut for five-time world champions Brazil in September.
Eder Militao was part of the Brazil team that thrashed El Salvador in an international friendly.
Premier League interest in him was first revealed by Duncan Castles of The Times.
According to him, Manchester United were considering the idea of making a big bid for the player as they look to boost their defence in the transfer market.
