Right now in a new development, a football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft has claimed the Everton star desires a move to Manchester United in the summer but Chelsea have first option to re-sign the forward from Goodison Park.
Lukaku made the switch to Everton from Chelsea in a permanent deal worth around £27 Million in the 2014 summer transfer window when Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho was still boss at Stamford Bridge.
And the player has gone on to become one of the best strikers in the Premier League following his impressive performances at Everton. In 141 appearances for the Toffees, he was able to score 68 times over the past four seasons at the club.
It is understood that Jose Mourinho desires a reunion with the 24-year-old at Old Trafford and has made him a top summer target after disrupting interest in Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann last week.
But Chelsea wants him too and have also made him a priority this summer. So, Manchester United are expected to clash with the Stamford Bridge club for his signature.
However, it appears Chelsea will get him eventually, and the signs are already there.
Also, Bundesliga expert Fjortoft took to Twitter to state that the player’s preferred destination could be Old Trafford, but the Blues have the advantage with the first option on the 24-year-old.
I guess Lukaku wants to go to Man UTD. Only problem is that Chelsea could have 1st option.
