Arsenal outcast Lucas Perez is a transfer target for Premier League new boys Newcastle United, head coach Rafael Benitez has declared, as he seeks to add to his team.
Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is keen on signing Lucas Perez from Premier League giant Arsenal as the Premier League returnee’s prepare for the Premier League.
Rafael Benitez has grown frustrated with Newcastle’s business in the current transfer market, with just five new players arriving at the club despite club owner Mike Ashley guarantee to make “every last penny” the club earns available to the Spanish Coach.
The Arsenal striker is out of favour at the North London club following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for a reported €60million transfer fee, and manager Arsene Wenger has submitted the striker is free to leave the club after just a season at the Emirate Stadium.
And Benitez, who has injury worries over striker Dwight Gayle ahead of the club’s opening Premier League fixture at home to Spurs on Sunday, has targeted Perez as a potential addition to his attacking options.
But while the former Deportivo La Coruna striker is of interest to Newcastle, coach Benitez says the Magpies will have to cash in on some players before they can be able to sign any more player.
