New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that there’s no new contract for wantaway midfielder Aaron Ramsey despite the interests of several European clubs.
Welsh international star Ramsey has six months left on his current contract and he’s said to be on his way out of Arsenal with the club not unwilling to offer him fresh terms.
Arsenal withdrew their initial contract offer to him earlier in the year thus leading to transfer rumours about his next destination at the end of his Gunners deal.
Ramsey has been in top form for Arsenal despite limited playing time as he has done well not to allow his contract standoff affect his productivity for the Gunners.
Unai Emery was asked about Ramsey and a possible new contract during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash at the home of rivals Manchester United.
According to him, the Welshman’s contract situation remains as it has been and that the focus is on matters on the pitch rather than off it.
Several European clubs have contacted the 27-year-old about a potential free transfer at the end of his current Arsenal deal next summer.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are some of the clubs interested in a move for Ramsey.
