£60million Sanchez replacement edging closer to Arsenal switch

Fekir has been strongly linked with a switch to Arsenal for some weeks now, with the Daily Star reporting earlier in the month that the Emirates club had pretty much agreed to cough out a whopping £60million for the attacking midfielder.

Today, it’s TransferMarketWeb reporting that a move is edging closer and that the 24-year-old will suitably replace outgoing Alexis Sanchez. However, where the outlet got this from is anyone’s guess since they could also be relaying what the Daily Star originally claimed.

The attacker has until June the summer of 2020 on his current contract with Olympique Lyon and is currently hotly pursued in Ligue 1, which tells you why he would allegedly cost Arsenal around £60m.

The France international attacking midfielder loves to play as an attacking-midfielder, rather than a central forward, but he can also play on the flank and did so about seven times for Lyon last season.

While it makes a lot of sense if he was replacing Germany international attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil, as was initially rumoured, he’s scored 11 goals in 11 Ligue 1 matches this term and made three assists, so fans need not argue. That’s more than the figures of either players!

At the moment, it seems as if Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are leaving in January, despite what Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claims, which means the Gunners need like-for-like replacements.
