According to new reports, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to reward talented Antonio Valencia for his impressive performances so far at the Old Trafford by agreeing to give him a new deal.
He has kickstarted his career under the Portuguese tactician making the right-back role his own with his spectacular displays at Old Trafford.
Under former coach Louis Van Gaal, Valencia’s future at United wasn’t too bright. But he impressively worked very hard and has become a regular after years as a flying winger.
Valencia was reportedly worried that the club would not take up a one-year option in his existing deal but there’s no doubting his importance to the side.
Even while being forced into adapting to a new role and was just returning from surgery, he keeps impressing everyone and was recently voted as the Player of the Month.
Though Valencia’s current deal expires in the summer, Manchester United have an option of extending it a year, which means it would effectively end in 2018.
Jose Mourinho has considered his fine performances this season and had decide making Valencia stick at the Old Trafford. This means he now has a big role to play, and if he should continue impressing, would be entrusted with bigger responsibilities.
