According to new reports, Mesut Ozil’s team are confident the player will move to Manchester United for free at the end of this season.
Ozil is out of contract next summer, with reports that he has rejected a £265,000-a-week contract to extend his stay at Arsenal.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he is keen to keep the Germany international with him at the Emirates, but the French boss could be persuaded into selling the midfielder when January comes – rather than allowing him to leave for free at the end of the season.
During the past summer transfer window, no club was willing to pay the huge fee Arsenal were demanding for the midfielder who was entering the final year of his contract.
However, Jose Mourinho’s side are regarded as the most likely club to get the German, and the Daily Mirror said Ozil’s reps are confident of a move to Old Trafford.
It was also added that apart from the red devils, Mesut is willing to move back to Spain to play for his former club Real Madrid, or Catalan giants Barcelona.
Jose Mourinho and the player have both worked together back then at Real Madrid, and a reunion could actually materialise next year at Old Trafford.
Ozil has made complaints about Arsene Wenger’s 3-4-3 system at Arsenal that won’t allow him to play in his favourite No. 10 role.
