Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has delivered his prediction ahead of his former side’s showdown with premier league table leaders Chelsea on Sunday, and it appears the Englishman is not expecting the game between the two sides to be a classic.
Chelsea currently dominates the premier league table being seven points clear off Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table and are on the way to winning their second title in three years when May comes.
Already this season, the Stamford Bridge club have beaten the Old Trafford club twice in a premier league and a FA Cup encounter.
However, former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen does not think Chelsea (who have been regarded favourites to win the game) will get the three points when they play the red devils in their next game in the English top flight.
The former England international noted that Chelsea have already beaten the red devils twice at Stamford Bridge this current campaign, and United’s Portuguese manager will not want Chelsea to ‘unofficially’ win the Premier League title when they met at Old Trafford on Sunday.
He suggests that both teams would instead share the three points and go on with a point apiece.
Manchester United currently have two mediums to feature in the Champions League next season: Win the Europa League, and fight hard to finish at the top four.
