According to new reports, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has decided to replace bound-to-depart Marouane Fellaini with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic if the former Everton midfielder leaves his side next year.
The Belgium international will be out of contract at Old Trafford next June and is yet to extend his stay at the club by signing a new deal with the red devils.
It is unlikely he will put pen on paper for a new deal before the end of this year and will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with other clubs when January comes.
Fellaini is an integral part of Jose’s team this season but could be set to move away on a free transfer at the end of this season.
And it is understood that Mourinho is aware the tall midfielder could actually depart next summer and is on his toes to bring in a new talented player to replace Marouane.
It was made known that the Portuguese tactician has now identified the player he wants to replace Fellaini, and Il Messaggero reports the club are watching Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Sergej has been impressive at Lazio in recent times, and his superb performances have caught the attention of manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician is said to be a big admirer of the talented 22-year-old.
However, it was also added that the Serie A club do not want to sell the player and have slapped a £88million (€100m) price tag on him.
