Manchester United are set for a major boost following reports that Diogo Dalot will return to the club’s training this week.
The youngster who arrived from Porto earlier this summer has not been able to train with his new teammates at United due to a niggling knee injury. Having had a surgery on his knee before his transfer, the defender is expected to make a return to training this week, after undergoing full recovery.
Dalot was part of Manchester United’s pre-season tour in the United States during the summer but did not participate in any collective drills.
Reports in the Metro Uk now claims that coaches at Carrington training facility are hoping the defender makes a comeback as soon as possible after getting impressed by the defender’s progress.
United boss Jose Mourinho is optimistic about Dalot and will hope the defender make full debut September.
Dalot’s return to training will be a great news to Mourinho who has been concerned about his side’s failure to bring in a new defender during the last summer window.
The likes of Jerome Boateng, Harry Maguire, Yerry Mina and Toby Alderweireld were all linked with a move to the Old Trafford but the English giants pulled out of the deals for financial reasons.
