Five-time European champions Liverpool have reportedly firmed up their interest in highly rated Turkish midfielder Abdulkadir Omur.
Abdulkadir Omur plays his club football for Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor at the moment.
According to the publication from popular British media outlet TalkSport, Liverpool registered their interest in the young midfielder by sending scouts to watch the player in action for Trabzonspor.
Omur, 19, has enjoyed a breakthrough season for Trabzonspor and his form has attracted the interest of several European sides including Merseyside giants Liverpool.
The Turkish u-21 international has been one of the best young players in Turkey this season.
Liverpool could swoop in on him in the summer though it must be said that the player would be one for the future.
The Liverpool midfielder has come under criticism at various times this season and the Reds could strengthen that area in the summer.
Despite the lack of attacking instinct on the part of the Liverpool midfielders, the Reds have maintained their position at the top of the table at the expense of Premier League champions Manchester City.
They have a one-point lead at the Premier League summit ahead of this weekend’s Merseyside Derby clash with the Toffees at Goodison Park.
