Five-time European champions Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign highly-rated Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic some days before the January transfer window reopens.
The Daily Express claim that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has made the decision to walk away from a potential move for the United States of America international.
This is coming on the back of the Blues reported £45m agreement with Borussia Dortmund for a summer transfer for Pulisic.
It was also revealed that Klopp and Liverpool are back in the race for France World Cup winner Nabil Fekir.
The Frenchman plays his club football for French Ligue 1 giants Lyon at the moment.
The 25-year-old came close to joining the Premier League table toppers in the summer after they agreed a multi-million pounds move with Lyon.
Liverpool and Lyon reached an agreement over a £53m deal for the forward only for the Reds to pull out of the transfer.
The Merseyside giants were said to have withdrawn from the transfer because of concerns over his knee.
Nabil Fekir recovered from that transfer setback to play a big part in the French team’s World Cup triumph this summer.
France won the tournament by beating Croatia 4-2 in their final clash.
