Tammy Abraham

German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig are planning a summer swoop for Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham according to the publication from the Football Insider.

Tammy Abraham is on a season-long loan at English Championship club Aston Villa from Chelsea at the moment having joined them at the end of last summer’s transfer window.

It was revealed that RB Leipzig sent scouts to watch him in action for Aston Villa at the weekend.

RB Leipzig see him as a possible replacement for star striker Timo Werner who has been linked with a move away from the German club.

Leipzig scouts were in attendance as Tammy Abraham scored his 22nd goals of the season for his Midlands club in just 32 games to help Aston Villa beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 to further boost their bid for a playoff spot at the end of the regular English Championship season.

Tammy Abraham could have joined Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers during the January transfer window but the 21-year-old rejected the move to stay with Aston Villa.

Wolves are expected to rekindle their interest in him this summer if Chelsea want to sell him permanently but they will have to contend with RB Leipzig who see the 22-goal striker as a like-for-like replacement for Timo Werner.
