Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will reportedly block London side West Ham’s move for his English striker Daniel Sturridge during the January transfer window.
Sturridge has become a bit part player for the Anfield giants since the appointment of former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 manager Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool boss in October 2015 prompting speculation about the future of the former Manchester City and Chelsea striker with the 5-time UEFA Champions League (UCL) winners.
English Premier League (EPL) sides such as West Ham and Arsenal have been linked with a move for the 27-year old with the former keen to sign him next month so as to bolster their attacking options.
West Ham have not started the season well despite the excitements of moving to the Olympic Stadium and are presently languishing in the bottom half of the table. They have also struggled on the striking options front due to the fact that their first choice strikers namely Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll have barely featured for the Hammers.
According to the popular news outlet Mirror, Sturridge will however not be moving to Slaven Bilic’s side despite being unhappy at his limited playing time with the 18-time English champions.
Klopp is not ready to lose another striking talent especially with Senegalese star Sadio Mane expected to feature for his country at the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon in addition to Danny Ings, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury.
