Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is happy with his players for giving him the perfect birthday gift after they trashed Yeovil Town 4-0 on Friday night.
Latest signing Alexis Sanchez played his first game in a Man United shirt at Huish Park and was able to put up a superb performance that earned him the Man of The Match reward.
But it was Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku who scored the goals that pushed Jose Mourinho’s side to the next round of the tournament.
The Portuguese tactician turned 55 on Friday but focused fully on getting the win away from home at Yeovil.
And after the job was done, Jose took to social media to send the boys a rare message, thanking them for the win.
The former Chelsea boss recently signed a new contract with Manchester United meant to expire in 2020.
He successfully won two major trophies for the red devils last season – despite being his first campaign at the club, including the Europa League – which gave him a spot in the Champions League this season.
Manchester United are currently sitting second behind league leaders Manchester City and the former Real Madrid boss is still hopeful of overtaking Pep Guardiola’s side before the end of the season.
