Atletico Madrid star player Antoine Griezman has once again been linked to Chelsea, following his recent claim that he would love to play in the Premier League rather than French Ligue 1 in the future.

The highly rated goal poacher helped his national team side to reach the Europe Cup final in which they lost to Portugal few months ago.

The sensational goal poacher won the Golden Boot as the tournament’s top scorer, with six goals while also named as the tournament best player.

Speaking to French publication Telefoot, via Metro, the attacking midfielder said:

‘I am in Madrid, we have a good team, I want to win titles,’ Said Griezmann – ‘PSG is an interesting project but I don’t want to move to Ligue 1 now.

‘I prefer to stay in La Liga or the Premier League. If I had to leave La Liga today, it will be for England.
‘But my objective is not to leave.’

However, Chelsea would have to battle Manchester United for his services, after the player claimed he would favour a move to Old Trafford, should he decides to play in the Premier League.

“I always ask Paul Pogba about Manchester United. I think they are a huge club with a really good infrastructure,” Griezmann told Sky Sports.

“It would be awesome to play alongside Paul one day,” he added.

Although the player has a massive buy-out clause of about £47 million, its however believed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich who is a big admirer of Griezman will be willing to sanction the deal.

The highly rated star has become a key squad member for Diego Simeone team after joining from Real Sociedad in 2014.
