The new premier league campaign is here already and managers are striving to secure last minute deals before the end of the transfer window on Thursday.
At Stamford Bridge, while many Chelsea fans have been worried about their side’s lack of activity in the summer window so far, manager Maurizio Sarri is set to make them smile again.
According to new reports, the west Londoners have agreed to a deal to sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid.
It was made known that the blues have agreed to an initial loan deal to secure the player’s services this summer and that they plan to make it a permanent transfer with £53.5M when next summer comes.
The talented midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in recent times, and it is believed he is keen on dumping the Champions League winners for another club that can assure him of regular playing time.
The Croatian midfielder moved to the Spanish capital from Inter Milan in 2015 but he keeps struggling for regular first-team actions at the club.
Kovacic is set to move to the premier league this summer and has been linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, the 24-year-old is not embracing the idea of playing under manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and he gave Chelsea the opportunity to secure his services.
And according to TeamTalk, the London club have agreed to a deal with the Spanish side for Matteo to play at Stamford Bridge on an initial season-long loan deal.
It was also added that Sarri’s side have the option to make the transfer a permanent one for £53.5M when next summer comes.
