According to latest media reports, Premier League giants Manchester United have been told to hold on until after the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia to complete the signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld.
Toby heavily linked with a move
The Belgium international defender has long been connected with a transfer to the Old Trafford outfit, with the North London giants demanding a fee in the region of £60million for one of the club’s most prized assets.
The Tottenham defender has been reliable and rock solid in defence for Mauricio Pochettino’s team in recent seasons and would be a good addition to the Red Devils defence line.
ESPN suggest Spurs do not want to cash in on players until the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia is done, which means the Red Devils only have to wait for about two weeks to complete the transfer deal.
Toby also linked with Top European side
Toby, 29, has also been heavily linked with top European clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, La Liga Champions FC Barcelona and it has been claimed that the Premier League side are not willing to pay £60million for the Spurs star.
Still, they have more than enough money to splash around and one imagines the former Premier League champions will seek a way to complete this transfer deal, possibly by including Anthony Martial as part of the transfer deal.
