European champions Real Madrid are eyeing a free transfer move for Chelsea defender David Luiz according to reports coming out of the media in Spain.

Real Madrid have been linked with big money moves for the likes of Neymar (Paris Saint Germain), Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur) and Eden Hazard (Chelsea) and the Spaniards will also try to cut costs by targeting free transfer players like David Luiz.

El Gol Digital claim that the Los Merengues are potentially eyeing four free transfer moves this summer.

David Luiz, Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal), Juan Manuel Mata (Manchester United) and Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint Germain).

Real Madrid have suffered defensively this term due to the incessant injury problems suffered by Jesus Vallejo and David Luiz could boost the defensive options at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Former Benfica and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) defender David Luiz has a Chelsea contract that runs out at the end of this season.

Reports claim that the Blues have already offered the Brazilian international centre back a one-year contract extension in line with the club’s age 30+ policy but he’s holding out for at least a two-year contract extension.

David Luiz has been a first choice defender under Maurizio Sarri since the Italian became the new Chelsea manager.
