‘Chelsea made a mistake’ Legend questions creative star player’s Sale

Premier League Champions Chelsea made a big mistake in cashing in on Nemanja Matic to rival Manchester United this summer.

That’s the candid opinion of Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins who cannot understand why the club decided to take the decision to let the Serbian international leave for Old Trafford.

Nemanja Matic has started well at Manchester United as Portuegese tactician Jose Mourinho looks to win the Red Devil’s their first English Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

The Premier League giant currently sit second on the log with just lousy neighbours Manchester City ahead Mourinho’s team on goal difference.

Wilkins said on Sky Sports, “Why did Chelsea sell him [Namanja Matic] at £40million?”.

“I [Ray Wilkins] have no idea, I [Ray Wilkins] really have no idea whatsoever.

“He [Matic] is allowing everybody [his teammates] to do their jobs and do their jobs a lot much better.

He sadi as far as he is concerned, the Blues should never have allowed him to leave the club.

Manchester United take rivals Liverpool at Anfield Stadium in the English Premier League after the two weeks international break.

The Premier League Champions travel to Selhurst Park to play on Crystal Palace next.
