Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes youngster Harry Maguire has many of the characteristics which helped ensure club Legend and former captain John Terry enjoyed a successful international football career.

The 24-year-old joined Leicester from relegated Hull City in the summer transfer window in a £17million transfer and has quickly established himself as a prominent player in Craig Shakespeare’s team.

Harry Maguire was adequately rewarded for his early season outings for his club with his debut call-up to Southgate’s England National team squad for the recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and Antonio Conte has been highly impressed with what he has seen from the defender.

‘Yes I (Conte) think he (Maguire) has the right characteristics (attributes) to play for the (England) national team for many (more) years,’ said the Chelsea, head coach.

‘To compare him (Maguire) with John (Terry) is very difficult (tough) because John (Terry) played a lot of games (matches) with the national team. He was the captain; he was a legend for the England national men football team and Chelsea FC.

‘But (Harry) Maguire has the right characteristics (attribute) to follow this type of (football) career.’

Maguire will be handed the responsibility to tame Spain international Alvaro Morata and a Blue attack that could well have the fit again Belgian Eden Hazard when Leicester City host Chelsea on Saturday.
