Fans of North London side Tottenham Hotspurs got an early Christmas present after news broke that their star man Harry Kane has signed a new deal until 2022 with a reported £100,000 weekly wages to make him one of the highest earners at the club. A couple of defensive errors and bad play saw Tottenham crash out of the UEFA Champions league on Tuesdays night following the qualification of English Champions Leicester City in same competition. Prior to the game Monaco had lost just once at Stade Louis II in as many as 23 games but notwithstanding, Tottenham started the game in a positive note. Tottenham crashed out of the Champions league following a defeat at Stade Louis as they were beaten 2:1 by Monaco. It was a sad night for Spurs and Harry Kane who also got his name on the scoresheet was clearly unhappy as he spoke to press after the game: “We got ourselves back in the game at 1-1 and it was schoolboy to concede straight after that. “We had to try to grind out a win because we were not great tonight - the second goal took the stuffing out of us. Tottenham needed at least a point from their game with Monaco on Tuesday but instead fell to a 2:1 defeat. The result means they can't take the second spot even if they win their game against CSKA Moscow at Wembley next month. Spurs had started the game on a bright note and could have been ahead on 6th minute but Son Heung-min could only direct the ball out wide. Lloris had a good match and made some superb saves. Starting with a Falcao low spot kick which looked destined for the back of the net before Lloris dived to stop it. Lloris also made a good double save to deny the Monaco duo -Ben Mendy and Valere Germain- minutes later but it was not enough to keep Tottenham in the competition.
