Barcelona Set To Destroy Liverpool’s Summer Transfer Plans After Countiho’s Refusal

Naby Keita

According to the Daily Mirror, La Liga giants Barca have developed an interest in making a move for Naby Keita after the talented player emerged as a target for Liverpool this summer.

RB Leipzig refused to sell the African midfielder to Liverpool this summer and there are speculations that the Merseyside club will be coming for him next year when the £48million release clause in his contract will be activated.

Things are not going as planned initially (sell Neymar and bring in Countiho) and they are now trying to plan ahead.

It is understood that Barcelona officials watched Keita played in his side’s 2-0 defeat to Schalke in their first Bundesliga game of the new season.

Either Coutinho is staying at Anfield or not, Liverpool are said to be keen on bringing him into the club next summer and are ready to do all it takes to bring the Guinean to England.

But with the transfer window closing next week, Barcelona are desperate and could convince Leipzig to send the player to Camp Nou before the window closes. If this happened, then it will be a big blow to Liverpool’s plans for the coming summer.

Klopp will be delighted if Countiho decides to stay with him at Anfield, but won’t be too happy should Barcelona sign Keita.
