Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona want to sign out-of-favour Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen when the transfer window reopens in two weeks time.
Popular English media portal Talksport say that the Catalans are targeting a move for the Danish international defender in a bid to ease their defensive crisis.
Barcelona are currently left with just two centre-backs namely Gerard Pique and Cristian Lenglet following the recent injury to Belgian international defender Thomas Vermaelen to add to the injured France World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti.
In addition, the five-time European champions are also without Sergio Roberto and Nelson Semedo because of injury.
It was revealed that Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde would like to strengthen his defence in the January transfer window and the aforementioned Christensen is top of his list of transfer targets.
Andreas Christensen has been on the outskirts of the Chelsea starting XI since manager Maurizio Sarri took over in the summer.
The 22-year-old has been very vocal about the need to secure a transfer away from Stamford Bridge in search of more playing opportunities.
His current situation is in stark contrast to what he enjoyed under former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Andreas Christensen was one of the regulars in the Chelsea team under Conte last season.
