Adrien Rabiot

Premier League giants Chelsea have received a big boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot after recent reports from the Spanish media claim that Barcelona have had a setback in the race to sign the 23-year-old.

Spanish media platform Mundo Deportivo revealed that the Catalans have hit a brick wall in negotiations for the young French midfielder thereby opening the door for other interested parties like Chelsea.

The Spanish La Liga giants were overwhelming favourites to sign the French international player on a free transfer at the end of his contract with PSG until the latest development from the aforementioned publication.

Apart from Barcelona and Chelsea, other European sides like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been mentioned as potential transfer destinations for Rabiot.

The player has six months left on his current contract with French champions PSG and he has already informed the club that he won’t sign a new contract extension as confirmed by sporting director Antero Henrique.

The Club chief also revealed that the player turned down several contract offers before saying that Adrien Rabiot will be frozen out of the team since he has decided against signing a new contract with the French capital side.
