Arsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly taken a major step to speed up his departure from German side Borussia Dortmund, as per reports in Germany.
The Dortmund striker clearly wants to leave the club and has dropped a transfer request amid a £55million interest from Arsenal, as reported by Bild, as cited by the Metro.
The African would be a good signing for the Gunners considering their current contract crisis up front, with Chile forward Alexis Sanchez looking very likely to go this month.
British publication BBC have linked the attacker with a move to Manchester United, while reports suggest the Blues have entered the transfer race for his signature.
This would leave Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger short of players up front, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s record down the seasons suggests he might effortlessly fill that vacant boots.
The 28-year-old Gabon international was top scorer in the German Bundesliga last campaign after netting 31 goals in only 32 league matches, and totally has 141 goals in 212 matches in a Borussia Dortmund shirt.
Arsenal supporters will be glad to learn that he’s submitted a transfer request, after Guillem Balague’s claims earlier about the striker wanting the switch and the gunners being optimistic about completing the transfer.
