The record breaking arrival of Brazil superstar Neymar Jr at Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain is bound to force the Ligue 1 runner up to cash in on some of their players in a bid to comply with the UEFA Financial Fair play regulations.

The French club, according to reports have told German international Julian Draxler that he is no longer needed at PSG and is free to go before the summer transfer window slams shut.

According to Fox Sports, the Gunners are strong contenders to secure the signature of the German, who is valued up to £40 million, amid interest from Liverpool.

Julian Draxler joined PSG about eight months ago but has failed to seal a permanent shirt at the club. The signing of Neymar will force Draxler further down the pecking order at the club, prompting PSG and the German to consider a transfer.

It’s believed that the club have transfer listed the 23-year old attacker, who only played 25 matches in all competitions for the club, with Premier League duo of Arsenal, Liverpool and La Liga giant Barcelona allegedly interested in the versatile midfielder.

Blaise Matuidi has already left the Parc des Princes outfit for Italian side Juventus.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is thought to be a big fan of Draxler and has been strongly linked with the 23-year old midfielder for years now, and had unsuccessfully tried to lure the German before he joined Wolfsburg.

Chilean Alexis Sanchez’s reluctance to pen a new deal could see him exit the London club, confirming Arsenal’s need to sign Draxler, who can wreak havoc down either flank – much like contract rebel Alexis Sanchez does.
