According to reports, FC Porto’s home league game against Moreirense played on Sunday wasn’t so attractive for scouts from abroad. Arsenal are the only English club said to send representatives to the match.
The Record stated that Arsenal were in the North of Portugal to keep an eye on the duo of André Silva and Danilo Pereira. Both Silva and Danilo are said to be long-time targets for the club.
In the 3-0 win, Silva scored one of the goals which made it his 16th goal this season so far.
Danilo missed Porto’s last match due to suspension, but got back into the team and didn’t have any difficulties in showing his stuff – keeping the defensive balance and avoiding Moreirense’s dangerous plays.
While André Silva has a €60m release clause, Danilo’s is €40m.
Even though the Gunners are said to have been watching the duo for a long time, no bids had been however reported.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is known to be hesitant in the transfer market. However, there is every chance the targets being picked out are simply guesses. Last season when Arsenal were repeatedly scouting Porto, it was speculated with confidence that Ruben Neves was the target. That however seems to change to suit each flavour of the month.
