Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that some key players are back in action ahead of this weekend’s Premier League encounter with rival Liverpool.

The French tactician saw his team kick off the season with a win over Premier League Champions Chelsea in the FA Community Shield and a sensational comeback victory against former Champions Leicester City on Match day 1 of the new Premier League season.

However, the gunner’s familiar misery returned last weekend as a lone goal from Jese Rodriguez saw Wenger’s men suffer a 1-0 loss at Stoke City.

Two prominent players who were not part of the squad at the Bet365 stadium were defender Laurent Koscielny and Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez.

But the manager has revealed the two stars are now available once again ahead of the encounter with Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The Arsenal manager said, “The early team news is that defender Laurent Koscielny is back available for selection and forward Alexis Sanchez has worked very hard to be back again, and he is available as well.”

Arsenal were thrashed 3-1 in this fixture last term after a relatively slow start which saw them let in two cheap goals in the first half.

Following Nacho Monreal’s below-par outing at the center of the defense against Stoke, central defender Laurent Koscielny could return to the starting eleven straight away.
