Arsenal star Alex-oxlade Chamberlain has dismissed reports linking him to a summer move to Anfield, claiming he will remain at the Emirates next season.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates next summer window, after getting frustrated at his lack of chances under Arsene Wenger and there are reports that Liverpool are ready to swoop for him for a reported 35million fee.
It is understood that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of oxlade-chamberlain’s skills and will push for a summer deal for him, but his latest statement about the proposed move could break the German’s heart.
The Englishman said: “My personal ambitions are always to play as well as I can and be as professional as I can for Arsenal and obviously stay in and around the England squad as well.”
“That’s no easy feat, we’ve got a lot of good, young players coming through at the moment and competition for places is high, and with the World Cup coming up next year that’ll be in the back of everyone’s mind.”
“For me as an attacker it’s scoring and creating goals and helping the team to win, so I’ll just be focused on doing that as well as I can for my club.”
“And then from an England point of view keep pushing to be in and around that squad, and hopefully go to the World Cup and help us achieve something special.”
Despite his comments, Oxlade-chamberlain has stalled on renewing his contract at the Emirates, which ends in 2018.
