It is also understood that Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has spoken with Allegri’s representative, Giovanni Branchini following the announcement of Luis Enrique that he will be leaving the club at the end of the current campaign.

The report also suggests that the Catalan giants held informal talks with the Italian during before the quarter-final clash between Barcelona and Juventus and negotiations have progressed.

Arsenal were said to be keen on bringing Allegri to the Emirates next season, as he is being viewed as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger who has not signed another contract at the club that expires at the end of the season. Although, the situation have taken a new turn with suggestions that the Gunners boss might remain at the club for another year.
