Arsenal star player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer and has been heavily linked with making a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent times.
And according to new reports, the premier league champions are ready to open talks over the transfer of the midfielder after he made it known that he won’t be signing a new deal at the Emirates.
Alex’s future has been up in the air for much of this summer, and it now appears he could make a move to west London.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Arsene Wenger’s side have been trying hard to tie the Englishman down to a new deal, but it appears the player’s heart has been made up.
Sky Sports are reporting that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been keeping an eye on Alex’s situations at Arsenal and he is ready to make a move for him next week.
The England international has been with the gunners since joining from Southampton back in 2011, but has failed holding a regular spot in the squad.
Last season, Wenger used the 23-year-old more at the wing-back position, and even though he impressed greatly, he has made it known that he prefers playing as a central midfielder.
But we will see if he can play in that position should he move to Chelsea.
He is currently on preseason training with the rest of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side and they are expected to be back next week.
