Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed that Diego Costa is not leaving the Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from West London after his altercation with Antonio Conte which led to his absence from the squad that beat Leicester City.
Costa returned for Chelsea in the last victory over Hull City but his future at the club was still being questioned.
However, Chelsea legend Hasselbaink has now dismissed such claims in an interview with talkSPORT.
He said: “You know how it is – when a striker is doing well, is doing the business and is as important as Costa, you know he is going to get some kind of interest from other clubs,
“It’s up to him if he wants to stay or not, but Chelsea can’t afford to lose him in this moment.
“To play without him for the odd game, yes they can cope, but not five or six games in a row.
It’s very important for him to stay at Chelsea and I think he always wanted to stay, he was just playing the market.
“He’s going nowhere.”
Costa is currently tops the Premier League goalscorer chart with 15 goals and has put all the speculations to rest with his recent behavior in the squad training which suggests he might snub offers from China and stay at the Stamford Bridge.
