Arsenal Target Delivers Blow To Pursuit, Wants La Liga Move

Olympique Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has revealed he fancies a move to Atletico Madrid this summer despite been a long-term Arsenal target.

The French forward has been tipped to leave the Ligue 1 this summer after another brilliant season with Lyon, drawing interest from several clubs in Europe.

During the last summer transfer window, Arsenal were linked to sign Lacazette and even submitted a bid for the striker this summer, with reports in Daily Mail claiming that the Gunners are still interested in signing the France international.

However, the 25-year-old has expressed his love for Atleti and suggessted that he wants to play alongside Antoine Griezmann.

He said: ‘Yes, I like them. They’ve got great players, a great manager, a good fan base and Antoine is there.

‘We’ll see what happens at the end of the season and I’ll think about it then.

‘There are things, but the press talk about a lot of clubs, but I trust what my agent tells me and we’ll see.’

Griezmann has also been tipped to leave the Vicente Calderon this summer, with reports that he will join Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger is said to a long-term admirer of Lacazette’s qualities and has watched since his early days at the Ligue 1 side.
