Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands last weekend during the game against Southampton at the St Mary’s stadium.
However, the Portuguese tactician is set to avoid a charge from the FA for the incident – which is good news for Manchester United and the fans.
Referee Craig Pawson asked the former Chelsea manager to move to the stands in the closing stages of their recent premier league game on Saturday, where they eventually earned a 1-0 win.
The Man United boss left his technical area and encroached onto the pitch of play, prompting the ref to send him away from his position.
Fourth official, Mike Jones, called the attention of Craig to the infringement, and he promptly issued Jose with his marching orders.
The Daily Mail insisted the Portuguese tactician was not abusive to any of the officials and adhered to the referee’s marching orders without problems.
Of course, Jose has a history with the FA and has been given numerous bans. However, for the recent incident, he did not confront the officials during the match or after it.
The FA will now wait for Craig to hand in his official report, but it is unlikely the Man United boss will face further punishment.
The red devils remain unbeaten in the Premier League and are level on points with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Up next is a trip to Russia to play CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday.
