Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was pleased with Alexis Sanchez’s performances at Yeovil Town last night, and he made it known recently that the Chilean was desperate to make his debut at Huish Park.
Manchester United thrashed the League 2 club 4-0 to progress to the fifth round of the competition – thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku.
Although Alexis was unable to score at Huish Park, the former Barcelona man had a hand in two of his side’s goals and was named man of the match after full-time.
An excited Mourinho, speaking after the game, said a player like Sanchez is not one you worry if he can perform well or not.
The Portuguese boss also made it known that Alexis actually pleaded to play on Friday night against Yeovil Town despite not being fully fit for the game.
Sanchez became a Manchester United player on Monday after signing a deal that made him the highest paid player in the premier league.
His new side are still 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City in the premier league, and he will hope he can help Jose Mourinho get all three points from the top flight game against Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday.
