Van Dijk’s Impact Lauded At Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the impact of star player Virgil Van Dijk on the Reds since his transfer at the start of last year.
Van Dijk has earned rave reviews for his performances at Liverpool since his transfer from fellow Premier League club Southampton in January 2018.
Liverpool paid a world-record fee when they signed Virgil Van Dijk last season.
The Reds paid £75m for him and his impact has been positive as expected according to his manager Jurgen Klopp.
German tactician Klopp talked about Van Dijk in glowing terms during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash at Southampton.
Klopp revealed that his impact at Liverpool was expected before adding that they were sure about the transfer before splashing big money on him.
Van Dijk will return to his former club for the first time since his transfer from the South Coast club with Liverpool chasing the league title.
The Dutch international played a big part for the Reds in their run to the Champions League final before they were beaten 3-1 by Spanish giants Real Madrid.
He has been a defensive stalwart for Liverpool who are in a two-way battle for the Premier League title with Manchester City
Van Dijk and Liverpool have conceded just 19 goals in 32 league games.
