English Championship high-flyers Leeds United are interested in a permanent move for Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown.
This was confirmed by experienced journalist Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Izzy Brown is on a season-long loan deal at Leeds United from West London giants Chelsea.
Phil Hay was reacting to the question about a possible transfer for the 22-year-old.
According to him, Leeds United want to sign Izzy Brown permanently but his weekly wages could be a stumbling block for any deal to happen.
He further added that Leeds United would only be able to afford the player if they secure promotion to the Premier League at the end of this season.
Leeds United were previously the Championship leaders before they were dethroned by Norwich City on Sunday.
The Canaries are now the top team on the English Championship table following their 3-0 win over East Anglia rivals Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Izzy Brown signed for Premier League giants Chelsea in 2013 as a teenager from Midlands club West Bromwich Albion and has made just one appearance in the Premier League since then.
He could get the chance to establish himself in the Premier League if Leeds United secure promotion to the English top flight at the end of this campaign.
