Bayern Munich have intensified their efforts to sign Marco Verrati with reports that Carlo Ancelotti personally calls the Paris Saint Germaine star.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move out of Paris with Chelsea understood to be one of his possible destinations.
Reports in Le Parisien claims that Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has contacted the Italian on the phone regarding a potential move at the end of the current campaign.
Bayern has reportedly made the signing of Veratti as a top target as he is viewed as a possible replacement for Xabi Alonso whose contract expires at the end of the season.
The report also have it that Bayern will need to stump up to £70 million to force Paris Saint Germaine to sell Veratti, with suggestions that Unai Emery is not willing to let the Italy international leave the club.
Last month, Daily Mail claimed that Chelsea were believed to be confident of signing Veratti in the January transfer window, with reports that the Ligue 1 champions were asking for an astronimical figure.
Verratti’s agent Donati Di Campli also fuelled the move, admitting the midfielder’s future is in doubt.
‘Verratti wants to win at PSG,’ He told Rai Sport in October.
‘However, if these attacks from the French media continue then Marco will evaluate his position and will probably leave Paris.’
